Specialty Bits

Add a realistic touch to your model horse bridles, harnesses or costumes with Rio Rondo's miniature specialty bit shanks. Bits are sold by the set or pair, and will add the perfect detail to any miniature bridle.

The bits we offer are actually shanks or rings (no mouthpieces). Use Mini-Hold wax to keep the bit shanks in place temporarily... there's no need to saw the mouth open on a perfectly good model!

Bits are available in both Traditional and Classic scales.

CAST PEWTER BITS

Cast bits are made from pewter feature fine detail and dimensional relief. Check out our Finishing Brochure-BR2 for detailed information on easily polishing and finishing castings.

ETCHED BITS

Etched bits are Nickel Plated or Gold Plated copper or brass, and are flat with no decoration.

Mini-Hold Wax

All bits are sold as shanks only (no mouthpieces). Once they are attached to a bridle, you can keep them temporarily in place easily with Mini-Hold Wax. (Also known as "Sticky Wax". No need to saw mouths open or glue anything to a model permanently. Sticky Wax is a must-have item for every model horse hobbyist!
